Monster of the Weak Puppetry

Monster of the Weak is a sustainable puppet collective that creates work depicting modern day monstrosities such as the climate crisis, capitalism, and conflict, as Hollywood-style movie monsters. We create larger than life pieces through an ensemble-driven process, culminating in an opportunity for the audience to participate in direct action while riding the high of post-show catharsis. Through community cleaning and crafting days throughout projects, the public can make art from the pollution we collect and sanitize, including building recycled object puppets for performances. By activating the audience’s immediate adrenaline created from a theatrical experience, and bringing them face to face with the source of pollution in their community, we encourage lasting habits of change that make a direct impact against these institutional monsters.
